Alameda

Alameda has two parts, the main island and Bay Farm Island.

The main island has a mix of craftsman and grand old homes.  You'll want to check out the great number of large Victorian homes in the Gold Coast section of central Alameda.  The Park Street shopping district has wonderful shopping and eateries that will keep you coming back.  You can commute to San Francisco on the ferry, can't get any better than that.

Bay Farm island has newer homes, a myriad of picturesque lagoons,  and is a rapidly developing tech center.  It's also home to the Oakland Raider Football Team's headquarters and practice facility.
