The neighborhoods of Glenview, Laurel, and Oakmore share the same Zip code but the areas have a different flavor or feel. Glenview has a large array of traditional California Craftsman bungalows with a sprinkling of Mediterranean style homes and a small town feel. On weekends, Park Blvd. is abuzz with people sitting outside the restaurants enjoying the food and weather.
Moving up Park Blvd, you arrive in the Oakmore area. The homes here will be larger than Glenview and many of the homes have incredible views of San Francisco and the Bay. The homes in this area are a mix of Mid-Century, Mediterranean, and newer construction. Bicyclists often cut through Oakmore on their weekend rides on their way to the hills of Montclair or to Lake Merritt.
The Laurel District (Upper and Lower) is a multi-cultural neighborhood that has a strong commercial and shopping area. The homes here tend to be a bit more modest than Glenview or Oakmore, but the community feeling is strong. The Laurel Street Fair in August is certainly something you shouldn't miss!!
